Reasons for emergency eye appointment

Referred as emergency by doctor with doctor’s letter

Symptoms :

• Red and / or painful eye and / or sudden or rapidly progressive decrease in visual acuity, sudden double vision, sudden loss of the visual field, distorted vision, appearance of floaters, spots in central vision.
• Known or suspected condition: Retinal detachment, deterioration in AMD (age-related macular degeneration), deterioration in diabetic condition, acute keratitis.
• Eye trauma

The centre and the medical team reserve the right to delay emergency care depending on the reason for seeking an appointment and the prior discussion held either by telephone or in person, within a range of 0 to 7 days.
