EYELID DISEASE

We take care of inflammatory eyelid diseases such as chalazion, stye, rosaceiform blepharitis, and atopic dermatitis. We also operate on malignant eyelid tumours including basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas and pigmented tumors. These manifest as pigmented lesions of the free edge of the eyelid, increasing in severity with loss of eyelashes and repetitive bleeding episodes.

They require surgical removal under local anesthesia for analysis by a pathologist. Eyelid reconstruction after ablation is usually straightforward and without complications when the tumour is small. This is why early consultation is so advisable in case of doubt.
